The sugar content in regular Pepsi means if you consume more than 12 oz per day, it will lead to poor health, which increases the risk of kidney stone formation and growth.
According to Harvard Medical School there are 4 types of kidney stones.
However, the leading reason why they form is not consuming enough water.
Pepsi can cause the formation of kidney stones if:

These health conditions, such as a bacterial infection in the kidneys, are less likely to occur if a person is in good health. The body can much more easily fight off health conditions and heals faster if a person suffers from one of these.
Whereas, if a person drinks too much Pepsi and, as a result, consumes too much sugar, their overall health will be worse.
And the chances they will get one of the conditions that cause the formation of kidney stones is much higher.

Soft drinks have various ingredients, and it’s hard to know if they are good or bad for you.
So, here’s a rundown of what ingredients in soft drinks cause kidney stones.
As a general rule, the sugar in soft drinks causes the formation of kidney stones.
But only if a person consumes more than one 12 oz (360 mL) of soda daily.
According to the Kidney Foundation, kidney stones are caused by poor health, which will occur if a person consumes too much sugar.
But, no ingredients in sodas such as Pepsi are known to contribute directly to kidney stone formation.

The risk of developing all types of kidney stones is reduced by half if a person consumes the recommended daily water intake.

Therefore, you should consume less than one 12 oz can of soda per day, and ideally less, say around half a cup.

Therefore, the chances are that a whole can of soda will put you over the recommended daily intake of sugar.
