Today, I will explain if the Mormon Church owns Pepsi and if they own any well-known brands.

The Mormon church is a non-profit organization and does not engage in business activities.

Instead, they do charitable work and use the funds they receive to build new church facilities.

The Mormon Church collects funds from its members and uses them to build new churches and temples and do charitable work.

However, they do not invest in companies or engage in business activities.

Collecting funds from different sources means the person or company doing it falls under the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) rules.

These apply to business owners and employees.

However, the IRS has various categories where people or companies are not required to pay taxes.

These are deemed as being tax exempt. One of these is Churches and Religious organizations.

Interestingly, as you may know, the laws/recommendations of the Mormon church state that Mormons can not drink alcohol or caffeinated beverages, such as tea, coffee, and sodas that caffeinated sodas such as Pepsi and Coke.

Therefore, it would also go against what Mormons believe in owning Pepsi.

If an openly Mormon person is found to drink any of these, they will be banned from entering Mormon temples for a time.

They also can lose various privileges and can’t participate in Mormon activities.

Therefore an obvious question would be how the Mormon Church makes so much money and do they own or invest in any companies.

So here’s the long and short of whether the Mormon Church owns many well-known brands.

The Mormon Church publishes an annual report explaining what charitable works they do worldwide.

In 2021 they reported that they spent $906 million on charitable works.

It’s no secret that churches collect funds from their members.

The Mormon Church states on its official website the funds they receive are used to:

“Provide buildings or places of worship for members around the world. Provide education programs, including support for Church universities and seminary and institute programs.”

In 1965 they merged with the snack food brand Frito-Lay and changed its name to PepsiCo.

PepsiCo has a beverage division and a snack food division – called Frito-Lay. Both account for about 50% of the total products that PepsiCo makes.

Interestingly, the North American products that PepsiCo sells makeup about 50% of the total revenue PepsiCo makes each year.

The remaining 50% comprises sales outside North America, such as Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East.
