History:
– Founded in 1943 by Pedro Antonio Marcos Noriega
– Name is a portmanteau of Sabrosas y Fritas
– Bought out in 1966 after Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola Company merged
– Made taco shells with genetically modified corn in 2000
– Taco shells were recalled due to contamination

Present day:
– Sabritas is the brand for Frito-Lay products in Mexico
– Offers Cheetos, Fritos, Doritos, and Ruffles
– Controls around 80% of the Mexican snacks market
Frito-Lay sells variations under Sabritas brand in the U.S.
– Includes local products like Crujitos and Sabritones

Alegro Internacional:
– Created Sonrics in 1982 during the Latin American debt crisis
– Known for mascot, a wizard named El Maguito Sonrics
– Expanded to dry powder mixes and flavored water
– Led to the creation of Alegro Internacional
